The Chinese Soil and Water Conservation Society (CSWCS) was established on December 10th, 1967. The first president is the late Prof. H. Chou, who was also the chairman of Department of Soil and Water Conservation of National Chung Hsing University at that time and one of the organizers of CSWCS. The main purpose of CSWCS is not only to improve the research and development in soil and water conservation, but also the protection of natural resource, as well as the nation people's welfares.
The CSWCS was registered as corporation aggregate on April 26th, 2006. The general assembly and conference are held annually and the Journal of Chinese Soil and Water Conservation is published quarterly. The CSWCS is also very actively in international cooperation and communication. Team researches and development activities are held with academic community from US, China, Japan, Switzerland, Austria, Thailand, and South Korea, etc.
