Abstract
On the basis of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics and Design for Change education concepts, this study developed Taiwan’s first interactive teaching aid for the prevention of large-scale collapses and disasters. Learners can observe how rainfall induces deep-seated landslides by rapidly increasing groundwater
levels through the “Phenomena Observation” and “Stratum Structure” modules of the teaching aid. Furthermore, they
can use the “Remediation Methods” module to learn to mitigate and control disasters through various remediation
works. The “Interactive Platform” module can enhance learning effectiveness. Finally, this study used the borehole drilling results, groundwater monitoring wells, and self-developed water level measurement equipment to complete the construction of a virtual-real educational model that integrated the teaching aid and reality.
